Testing YouTube Feed Widget

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

I wrote a new plugin and I am currently testing it.

You may download the test version of the YouTube Feed Widget if you like. I will submit it to the WordPress Repository in a week or so after I finish testing it.

I will add the ability to list only a specific user’s videos before I release it.

Here is the description:

Displays a list with thumbnails of YouTube videos based on Youtube Category and search terms. Video list is updated regularly to display new results from YouTube.

The plugin require that you register with YouTube for an API application key. This allows you to run searches directly on the YouTube database and get back a list of videos. The API key is free and it takes only a minute to register. You can get the key at: https://code.google.com/apis/youtube/2.0/reference.html

You can specify the frequency that the list is updated. You can select videos by date or most popular. You can display up to 20 video thumbnails in the sidebar.

Videos open in new window.
