I was testing BotScout.com functionality for checking spam. The software kept on timing out so I figured that I did something wrong. I tried to access the site and got a gateway timeout error. Eventually I was able to see the page, but the load time was very slow.
I am guessing that they are experiencing a Denial of Service attack. I wish them luck. These attacks can go on for days. Lots of people use BotScout, HoneyPot and StopForumSpam. I remember that SFS was hit by DDOS and weathered it. Perhaps HoneyPot has been hit as well.
This site (blogseye.com) was hit by a DDOS attack a while back, but that doesn’t affect me much other than forcing me to test software on my other hosts. I don’t make any money here and not being able to access my site was only a minor inconvenience for a day of two.
