I still believe that, in general, hostgator is a decent hosting company, but I asked them twice to fix the problems with the server I was on and they pretty much denied it or ignored me. I wasn&#8217;t going to ask them a third time so I moved about 20 domains to my account at 1and1.com.<\/p>\n<p>Now 1and1.com has their own problems. There is no perfect hosting company. At least the response time that I get on my 42 domains is snappy. I hate their Java based interface. I much prefer CPANEL. I have to install AWSTATS on each domain (I have a script available here that takes the pain out of that).<\/p>\n<p>Now I have all my eggs in one basket, which is a problem, but I save $100 a year on hosting costs. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I moved my last domain off Hostgator today, and asked them to close my account.
