I’ve finally got this formatting stuff down. I am going to offer my services in reformatting manuscripts for submission to SmashWords.com and Amazon Kindle DTP (Digital Text Platform).<\/p>\n
I’ve decided to do it on the cheap at first in order to get a few more manuscripts under the belt.<\/p>\n
$35 per manuscript plus $1 per 1,000 words over 50,000.<\/p>\n
What I do –<\/p>\n
Remove tables, odd fonts, oversize text, and all of the stuff that creeps into a document.<\/p>\n
I will add a simple copyright and smashwords edition statement on your title page that will pass smashwords muster.<\/p>\n
I will format the document with indented paragraphs and body text with Times Roman Font.<\/p>\n
I will tweak these for you up to three times if there is something that you need changed.<\/p>\n
I will verify the internal chapter links and create a table of contents if you want one.<\/p>\n
I will add page breaks to each chapter start, plus the front matter.<\/p>\n
If you send me a cover document, I will include it in the output files so readers can see the cover.<\/p>\n
What I won’t do –<\/p>\n
I won’t change words. I won’t mess with chapters, italics, bold and special characters.<\/p>\n
I am a programmer, and I am not interested in your words and I will not try to edit your manuscript for anything else other than form.<\/p>\n
You will get a Mobi file for Kindle, plus the html file that was used to generate the Mobi file (this may be zipped if you include a cover image). You will get a MS word DOC file for use on Smashwords. You will get an RTF file for use on Barnes & Noble.<\/p>\n
