I was a subcontractor for the subcontractor, so I cleaned out my desk.<br \/>\nI am 65 years old and not looking forward to programming for other people 60 hours a week. I was happy at home and occupied myself in building a new chicken shed, keeping bees, writing a couple of short stories and writing some new WordPress plugins.<br \/>\nI was on Unemployment Insurance so I had to prove that I applied for three jobs every week. I looked on Indeed.com and clicked submit ever few days.<br \/>\nI never dreamed that anyone would hire a 65 year old man. The problem is that I went through five phone interviews and no one asked me to show up in-person for an interview.<br \/>\nI have been told that Verizon is hiring me and that I will get the contract to sign on the day after Labor Day.
