This program will walk you through installing awstats on 1and1 hosting accounts. This will only work for Linux hosting and the Business and Developer Plans. Unfortunately, the beginner and home plans do not allow setting cron jobs so the stats cannot be gathered.

The program copies the awstats program from SourceForge.net and installs it in a directory called awstats. It then creates a configuration file with the proper settings for 1and1 hosting and creates the automated task to update the database at midnight.

Currently the program installs awstats version 6.95. There may be a newer version of awstats. If this program is out of date it should be updated or a newer version downloaded from http://www.blogseye.com/

I put in a support ticket. I am not sure why crontab was disabled, but it appeared to have disappeared from the 1and1 admin menus and now it is back

I deleted the download. It seems that 1and1 now prohibits running crontab from PHP.</del>
