I installed the new version of Stop Spammers on all of my web sites.<\/p>\n
I have disabled the plugin that automatically adds spammers to my .htaccess file. I want to see how the plugin does when htaccess is not stopping spammers.<\/p>\n
The .htaccess file was too aggressive and I was stopping people from surfing my site, especially those using proxies from other countries or corporate surfers who use a web services company to provide IP to their offices. I can’t block these people from just surfing.<\/p>\n
I still block aggressive robots and hits without an accept header.<\/p>\n
I will still update my bad IP database directly from the Stop Forum Spam Weekly list so that I can generate the country denies used in the Stop Spammers plugin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
